Painting: Black and White I

Description

The work features a sequence of repeating windows. In the white frame, we have a fragment of nature that can be seen through the window and which is repeated alternately with a black, dark frame. This black frame may represent a window into the night, through which nothing but the darkness of the night can be glimpsed. At the same time, it can represent a dark, uninspired mind, that moment when the act of creation is absorbed by the vacuum of thought.
